Job Summary
We are looking for a dedicated Senior Claims Analyst to join our team on behalf of our client. In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end management of medical professional liability claims. You will investigate incident particulars, determine appropriate financial reserves, and drive cases toward a fair resolution. This is an ideal role for a claims professional who is looking to deepen their expertise in the specialized medical malpractice sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Claim Lifecycle Management: Execute full-cycle handling of claims, from initial coverage investigation and documentation to final file closure.
- Financial Oversight: Evaluate medical records and incident details to establish and maintain accurate indemnity and expense reserves.
- Negotiation & Resolution: Directly negotiate settlements and partner with defense counsel to resolve matters efficiently.
- Legal Participation: Represent the company at mediations and trials as required to support the defense strategy.
- Communication: Maintain proactive, transparent contact with insured healthcare providers, internal leadership, and cross-functional departments.
- Operational Quality: Adhere to industry best practices and internal protocols to ensure the highest level of data integrity and organized file management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or Juris Doctor (JD) required.
- Minimum of 3+ years of professional claims handling experience.
- Must be able to obtain a New York Adjuster’s License within 6–12 months of start date.
Skills
- Strong analytical ability with a high level of attention to detail and a commitment to ethical judgment.
- Proficient business writing and verbal skills for effective reporting and presentation.
Additional Requirements
- Ability to work on-site during the training period.
- Travel, including occasional overnight stays, for legal proceedings.
