Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Patient Account Representative responsible for managing accounts receivable and claims management in a medical billing environment. The primary responsibilities include following up on outstanding insurance claims and ensuring accurate reimbursement through coordination with insurance carriers and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and follow up on outstanding insurance claims to ensure timely and accurate reimbursement.
- Research, resolve, and document claim issues within AdvancedMD.
- Review aging reports and prioritize outstanding accounts for follow-up.
- Communicate with insurance carriers to obtain claim status and resolve billing issues.
- Submit corrected claims and supporting documentation as needed to facilitate payment.
- Monitor claims through payer portals to track payment status and resolve payment delays.
- Investigate denied or underpaid claims, prepare appeals, and collaborate with insurance representatives and internal teams.
- Maintain accurate records within AdvancedMD and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in medical billing or health insurance, with strong knowledge of insurance guidelines and medical documentation.
- Experience working in a large physician practice (50+ doctors) is preferred.
- Ability to work 200+ claims a week and solve problems quickly.
- Experience with AdvancedMD is strongly preferred.
- Texas insurance experience is a plus.
