Job Summary
Our client is seeking a dedicated Medical Coder with a focus on Electronic Transaction Management (ETM) denial research within Anatomical Pathology. The primary responsibility is to review claims denied by insurance companies, identify root causes like incorrect coding or missing modifiers, and prepare them for correction. The role offers remote work opportunities for candidates residing in certain states.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct deep-dive research into high-volume denial queues, handling approximately 1,000 total claims pending.
- Perform initial reviews and identify necessary charge corrections or modifiers to be implemented by the coding manager.
- Meet productivity metrics by processing approximately 20–25 claims per day with high-quality research.
- Work within Beeker, a pathology specific workflow, and EPIC systems.
Qualifications
- Location: 100% Remote; candidates must reside in MD, DE, AL, FL, GA, TN, or TX.
- Must hold a CPC or CCS certification.
- Proven experience in professional fee (Pro-fee) coding and denial research is required.
- 1-2 years of previous Anatomic Pathology Coding experience.
Schedule:
- Mon-Fri: 8am hour days
- Start Times: 7am EST - 9am EST
Skills
- Proficiency in Beeker/EPIC and IDX is strongly preferred. Training will be provided for Epic and Athena.
Additional Requirements
The role operates on a Monday to Friday schedule with 8-hour days. Start times range from 7am EST to 9am EST.
