Job Summary
Our client is seeking a dedicated Sample Technician to assist in handling and processing samples with precision and adherence to compliance standards. The role involves managing storage conditions, supporting laboratory functions, and ensuring safety protocols within the laboratory environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Sample Handling & Processing: Aliquots qualification and customer samples with high precision and accuracy. Prepares labels using automated and manual systems.
- Compliance & Documentation: Records observations and completes paperwork in strict accordance with GLP/GCLP guidelines, SOPs, and protocols. Maintains sample management tracking logs and documents discrepancies.
- Storage & Inventory Management: Monitors proper storage conditions (location, temperature, freezer conditions). Performs freezer inventory and cycle counts. Participates in an on-call rotation for freezer temperature monitoring and response.
- Lab Support: Handles general laboratory support functions including supply inventory, equipment maintenance (freezer, plate washers, plate readers), and daily laboratory cleaning.
- Safety: Adheres to all laboratory safety policies, including proper use of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Biology or a related field is required. (A High School diploma with additional experience in a regulated lab/CRO setting may be substituted).
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working in a regulated laboratory or Clinical Research Organization (CRO).
- Prior training and hands-on experience with Biosafety Level 2 (BSL-2) techniques is required. Training/experience with GLP and/or GCLP is highly preferred.
Experience
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a regulated laboratory or Clinical Research Organization (CRO).
Skills
- Strong pipetting proficiency (high precision and accuracy).
- Solid computer literacy (Microsoft Excel and Outlook).
- Ability to work comfortably with lab equipment such as single/multi-channel pipettes, plate washers, and plate readers.
Additional Requirements
- Need to be comfortable being added to the nighttime call list.
