Job Summary
Our client is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to provide clinical support and patient care services. The main responsibilities include patient intake, assisting physicians with examinations and procedures, and performing technical tasks such as phlebotomy and administering injections. Additionally, the Medical Assistant will manage operations and maintenance of exam rooms and handle administrative and coordination tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Escort patients, record vital signs, and update allergy/medication histories.
- Assist physicians with exams and procedures; provide patient education materials as directed.
- Perform phlebotomy and administer SC/IM injections per OSHA standards.
- Sanitize exam rooms and process medical instruments according to disinfection protocols.
- Monitor and order clinical supplies to ensure rooms are fully stocked for daily operations.
- Verify procedure consents and retrieve external medical records.
- Schedule tests, procedures, hospital admissions, and follow-up appointments.
- Manage patient calls, relay physician instructions, and facilitate prescription refills as directed.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- MA Diploma
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- 1+ years of MA experience
- Experience in a busy practice is preferred
- Previous Oncology Experience is preferred
Experience
- 1+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant
- Experience in a busy practice and previous oncology experience is preferred
Skills
- Proficient in phlebotomy and administering injections
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to manage logistics and operations of medical supplies
Additional Requirements
- Ability to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
