Job Summary
Our client is seeking a proficient Medical Assistant to provide clinical leadership and medical oversight for care management, utilization management, and quality improvement initiatives. This role involves collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to develop clinical policies, workflows, and best practices while ensuring compliance with healthcare standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical leadership and medical oversight for care management, utilization management, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Serve as a physician advisor for complex clinical cases, medical necessity determinations, and appeals.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement clinical policies, workflows, and best practices.
- Ensure compliance with CMS, NCQA, state regulations, and other applicable healthcare standards.
- Participate in peer-to-peer discussions with providers as needed.
- Support quality improvement efforts through analysis of clinical outcomes and performance metrics.
- Partner with operational leadership to improve patient outcomes, member experience, and cost-effective care delivery.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to clinical staff and physician colleagues.
- Participate in committees, strategic planning initiatives, and organizational leadership meetings.
- Stay current on healthcare regulations, clinical guidelines, and industry best practices.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO).
- Active, unrestricted Ohio medical license.
- Board Certification in an ABMS or AOA-recognized specialty.
- Minimum of 5 years of post-residency clinical practice experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of physician leadership experience (Medical Director, Associate Medical Director, Physician Advisor, or similar).
- Experience within managed care, health plans, value-based care, or population health preferred.
- Strong knowledge of utilization management, quality improvement, and evidence-based medicine.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across clinical and operational teams.
