Job Summary
Our client is seeking a dedicated Pediatric Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive nursing care to patients across the lifespan, with a focus on pediatric and family medicine populations. The ideal candidate will develop individualized care plans, triage patient concerns, administer treatments, and coordinate care with various healthcare providers.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients across the lifespan, with a strong focus on pediatric and family medicine populations.
- Assess patients' physical, emotional, developmental, and social needs while developing individualized care plans.
- Triage patient concerns in person and over the phone, coordinating appropriate follow-up care.
- Administer immunizations, medications, respiratory treatments, and other nursing interventions.
- Educate patients and families on preventive care, chronic disease management, medications, and healthy lifestyles.
- Coordinate care with physicians, school nurses, specialists, pharmacies, and community resources.
- Manage clinic flow by reviewing schedules, preparing patient charts, and coordinating same-day appointments.
- Document all patient encounters, assessments, and clinical interventions accurately within the EMR.
- Review laboratory and diagnostic results, communicate abnormal findings, and coordinate follow-up care.
- Support care management initiatives and assist with referrals, prior authorizations, and medication management.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, community outreach events, and interdisciplinary team meetings.
- Serve as a clinical resource for medical assistants and ancillary staff while helping maintain a positive team environment.
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Rhode Island
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience in Family Medicine, Pediatrics, Community Health, Primary Care, or Ambulatory Care.
- Recent hands-on experience caring for pediatric patients (children and adolescents) is required.
- Experience documenting within an electronic medical record (EMR).
- Bilingual, especially Spanish, is preferred.
- Experience working with underserved or diverse patient populations is preferred.
- Computer proficiency and familiarity with Epic EMR is preferred.
Skills
- Technical skills: Documentation within EMR, preferably Epic.
- Soft skills: Communication, teamwork, and ability to work with diverse populations.
