Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join a busy family practice clinic. This role provides direct and indirect nursing care to patients of all ages, from infants to geriatrics, while working collaboratively with an interdisciplinary healthcare team. The ideal candidate is experienced in outpatient clinical care, comfortable performing both clinical and administrative duties, and committed to delivering high-quality patient care.
This is a full-time opportunity with the potential to transition into a permanent position based on business needs and performance.
Schedule
- Full-time, 40 hours per week
- Four 9-hour shifts (typically 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM)
- One 4-hour half-day (typically 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM)
- Half-day is generally scheduled on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday
Responsibilities
- Perform initial patient assessments and ongoing reassessments.
- Provide comprehensive nursing care focused on prevention, early detection, and management of acute and chronic conditions.
- Room patients and prepare them for provider visits.
- Reconcile medication lists and update patient records.
- Administer medications, immunizations, and vaccinations.
- Perform point-of-care testing, including flu and COVID testing.
- Perform venipuncture and blood draws.
- Document patient care accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Manage patient communications, including phone calls, lab results, refill requests, and follow-up care.
- Collaborate with providers and the interdisciplinary care team to develop and revise patient care plans.
- Evaluate patient outcomes and document responses to treatment.
- Enter verbal orders, pend access notes, and assist with order management as appropriate.
- Maintain compliance with clinical policies, procedures, and patient safety standards.
Qualifications
Required
- Associate Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers.
- Minimum of one year of nursing experience in an outpatient setting such as family practice, internal medicine, primary care, or urgent care.
- Comfortable caring for patients across the lifespan, from pediatrics to geriatrics.
- Strong venipuncture and phlebotomy skills.
- Experience working with electronic medical records (EMR); Epic experience is preferred.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
