Job Summary
Our client is seeking a dedicated Patient Representative responsible for comprehensive patient account management, financial advising, and maintaining pricing integrity. The ideal candidate will facilitate payment solutions, oversee financial assistance programs, and ensure precise cash distribution. The role also emphasizes collaboration with internal departments and compliance with healthcare regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactive Account Oversight: Monitor and manage patient accounts with outstanding self-pay balances for timely resolution.
- Financial Advising: Clearly explain bills, charges, and payment options to patients.
- Pricing Integrity: Audit billed charges to ensure compliance with pricing agreements.
- Payment Optimization: Facilitate setup of payment plans and collect payments.
- Credit & Refund Resolution: Process patient refunds and cash distribution requests timely.
- Statement Management: Upload patient statements according to policy.
- Meticulous Record-Keeping: Maintain documentation of communications and payments.
- Inquiry Resolution: Resolve patient inquiries on balances and statements effectively.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with various departments to resolve account issues.
- Escalation & Transparency: Communicate billing-related issues to stakeholders clearly.
- Corporate Citizenship: Represent the company professionally and collaborate effectively.
- Regulatory Compliance: Maintain compliance with HIPAA and other regulations.
- Operational Agility: Keep updated on policies and perform additional duties as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Must be willing to be onsite Monday - Friday 8:30 am to 5 pm
- Basic math, bookkeeping, and accounting skills.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations.
Experience
- 1-3 years of experience in medical billing.

- Adaptability & Multitasking: Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Technical Proficiency: Command of computers, specialized software, and modern workplace devices.
