Job Summary
Our client is seeking an experienced Accountant for a temporary contract position. This role is primarily focused on data analysis and Excel work, providing support during the high-volume year-end close and audit period.
Key Responsibilities
- Support month-end close activities
- Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations
- Perform month-over-month expense and variance analysis
- Assist with high-volume transactional and reconciliation work, including pulling and organizing data
- Tying out reports to the general ledger
- Analyze data and identify variances
- Reconcile data across multiple sources
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies
Qualifications
- Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP or INDEX/MATCH
- Strong fundamental understanding of GAAP accounting practices
- Core accounting knowledge with an understanding of debits and credits
Experience
- Bachelors degree required
- Minimum 2 years of general accounting experience
- Highly proficient in sorting, formatting, and manipulating large datasets
Skills
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Strong analytical skills with sharp attention to detail
- Working knowledge of Abila accounting software
