Job Title: Orthopedic Spine Physician Assistant (PA-C)

Job Responsibilities

• Use critical thinking skills and clinical judgment to work autonomously as defined by the Board of Physician Assistants.

• Demonstrate the skills and competencies necessary to safely perform orthopedic spine assessments, treatments, and procedures.

• Use therapeutic communication to establish strong relationships with patients, families, and the interprofessional care team to collaborate on comprehensive plans of care.

• Accept accountability for healthcare outcomes, exercising sound judgment in all clinical interactions.

• Effectively communicate with patients, physicians, family members, and co-workers in a manner consistent with a customer service focus and positive language principles.

• Manage multiple tasks efficiently, demonstrating strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills.

• Maintain sufficient proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing the English language to safely perform all essential job functions impacting patient or employee safety.

Compensation

• Hourly Rate: $130,000 - $150,000, highly dependent on experience

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program.

• Current State Licensure from the Texas Board of Physician Assistants (Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation).

• Physician Assistant-Certified (PA-C) designation from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).

• Basic Life Support (BLS) or Instructor certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Instructor certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).

• Controlled Substance Registration/Narcotics License from the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.

• A minimum of one year of clinical experience is preferred, but open to entry-level/new graduate Physician Assistants with a strong work ethic and excellent interpersonal skills.

Schedule and Travel

• Hours: Monday – Friday day shift.

• Call Requirements: Favorable schedule featuring no after-hours call work (note: employees may still be required to be on-call during community emergencies, such as natural disasters or severe weather events).

• Travel: May require travel within and occasionally outside the Houston Metropolitan area.
