We are seeking a skilled professional to step in immediately for a 10 to 13-week contract at our premier outpatient imaging department in The Woodlands, TX. This urgent opening is due to a medical leave, and we are looking for a tech with the clinical confidence to manage the department autonomously, particularly during weekend hours. To ensure your success, a comprehensive, hands-on onboarding period will be provided directly by our current staff technologist to get you fully oriented and settled.

Key Responsibilities

Advanced Diagnostic Imaging: Demonstrate competency and proficiency following established protocols in the performance of high-quality PET/CT imaging using a state-of-the-art GE Omni Legend scanner.

Hot Lab & Dosing: Take full ownership of all radiopharmaceutical doses and Hot Lab responsibilities, handling these duties completely independently.

Clinical Duties: Perform proficient IV placement and operate automated contrast injectors. (A clinical aide is available Monday–Friday to assist with IVs and positioning; weekend shifts are strictly solo).

Clinical Collaboration & Documentation: Utilize Epic (EMR) and GE Universal (PACS) to accurately document, archive patient scans, and verify all required logs successfully transmit.

Patient-Centered Care: Provide exceptional care by explaining exams, medications, radiation safety, and positioning to reduce patient anxiety, maintaining a steady and safe workflow.
Schedule & Work Environment

Setting: Outpatient Imaging Department (TW OPID)

Hours & Flexibility: Standard operating hours are 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM (Monday–Wednesday/Thursday–Friday) and Saturdays 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Sundays are closed.

Customizable Shifts: While a 7-on/7-off rotation is available, leadership is highly flexible and willing to customize the shift structure to accommodate your preferences if you prefer a different schedule!

Work-Life Balance: Zero on-call requirements after 7:00 PM or during your scheduled days off.

Saturday Operations: One Saturday per month is a non-operational day (no dosing/scanning), allowing a break from active patient pacing.

Patient Volume: A highly manageable pace of 8–12 scans per day on average (scheduled in 45-minute slots on weekdays and 1-hour slots on Saturdays).

Team Dynamics: Supported by a clinical aide Monday through Friday; solo coverage on Saturdays.
Qualifications & Skills Required

Education: Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine or Radiologic Technology program.

Certifications: Credentialed by the ARRT (N) or NMTCB. (Note: A formal ARRT CT post-primary certification is not required for this role).

Licensure: Active Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) regular license with the Texas Medical Board (TMB) in hand at the time of submission. Candidates with licenses "in process" cannot be considered.

Basic Life Support: Current American Heart Association BLS certification required (ACLS not required).

Preferred Experience: Prior hands-on experience with Epic and GE Universal PACS is highly preferred. Must possess the confidence to run the department solo on weekends.
