Job Summary
The Medical Receptionist is responsible for professionally greeting and welcoming patients, families, and visitors. The primary duties include efficient patient registration, appointment scheduling, and managing communication between patients and clinical staff while adhering to compliance programs and ethical standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Reception & Intake: Greet patients and visitors; manage check-in, notify clinical staff of arrivals, and handle intake paperwork.
- Financial & Administrative Transactions: Collect patient co-pays, manage receipts, and assist with administrative duties.
- Communication & Message Management: Handle incoming calls, screen inquiries, and accurately route messages.
- Scheduling & Discharge Coordination: Oversee patient check-out and schedule follow-up appointments with detailed instructions.
- Compliance & Schedule Maintenance: Track and reschedule appointments, ensuring adherence to confidentiality laws.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Some medical receptionist or office experience required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft products.
- Preferred: Bilingual - Spanish.
Skills
- Proficient with Microsoft products.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Additional Requirements
Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 PM CST. May be asked to float to location that is 5 miles away on a rare occurrence.
