Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Pharmacy Supervisor to drive departmental goals and champion a positive, collaborative organizational culture. The Pharmacy Supervisor will oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of institutional policies regarding medication management and regulatory alignment, while also managing the daily activities of the clinical pharmacy team.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Culture: Drive departmental goals and champion a positive, collaborative organizational culture. Standardize internal clinical processes and serve as the primary point of escalation for customer service and operational challenges.
- Regulatory & Policy Management: Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of institutional policies regarding medication preparation, storage, administration, and regulatory alignment.
- Medication Management: Manage drug utilization evaluations, non-formulary approval protocols, medication safety reviews, and drug shortage mitigation strategies.
- Team Supervision & Development: Manage the daily activities of the clinical pharmacy team. Responsible for hiring, onboarding, training, performance evaluations, continuous feedback, and resource planning.
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Serve as a key liaison between pharmacy staff and executive leadership. Represent the pharmacy department on facility-wide committees to align on safety and quality goals.
- Clinical Oversight & Patient Care: Ensure the delivery of exceptional pharmaceutical care for specialized patient populations, including timely order verification within the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Quality & Safety Initiatives: Lead and sustain clinical quality improvement projects. Oversee the tracking and reporting of adverse drug events and medication variances using internal risk management systems.
- Operational Support: Support general, high-level pharmacy operations, including dispensing and inventory oversight, and provide guidance and supervision to pharmacy technicians, interns, and residents as required.
Qualifications
- PharmD or RPh
- Pediatric Pharmacy experience
- Critical Care experience (Adult or Pediatric)
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience or strong experience being an "informal" leader
- BLS (AHA, ARC or ASHI)
- Licensed pharmacist in Colorado or eligible to sit for licensure
Additional Requirements
Schedule/Shift: Monday - Friday, variable with weekend and evening rotation; selected holidays.
