Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Patient Service Representative who will be responsible for greeting patients and families, collecting demographic and insurance information, walk-in scheduling, and processing medical records requests. The role focuses on providing efficient services while adhering to privacy regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet patients and ascertain their needs in a professional manner.
- Accurately register patient demographic information.
- Promptly obtain and verify patient insurance.
- Advise patient of financial obligations and collect appropriate amounts.
- Interpret provider orders with correct ICD-10 codes.
- Prepare and process registration documents.
- Record incoming films and CDs.
- Maintain waiting area appearance.
- Promptly answer phone calls as per customer service guidelines.
- Schedule walk-in patients.
- Manage medical record requests messages.
- Create films, disks, and print reports upon request.
- Track and document outside patient films/disks.
- Communicate mammogram results to patients twice daily.
- Liaise with billing for legal requests and send legal records as needed.
- Prepare and mail reports and scan medical record releases.
- Update systems with new scripts and scan prescriptions for appointments.
- Print and mail referring physician reports.
- Scan, email, and mail dexa reports.
- Print and mail mammogram reminders and patient letters.
- Assist with additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma / GED
- 2+ years of medical front desk experience in an outpatient facility
- Proficiency in medical terminology
- Experience with EMR
- Ability to manage a fast-paced environment handling over 100 patients per day
Schedule/Shift
- Monday - Friday: 9am to 6:30pm
- One Saturday every 5th-6th week: 7am-12pm
