Job Summary
Our client is seeking an Orthopedic Surgeon to manage a high-volume caseload, including a variety of surgical procedures and clinical evaluations. This position entails seeing 30 to 40 patients per day in clinics and performing 15 to 20 surgical procedures daily at designated surgical centers. The successful candidate will exhibit strong capabilities in hand-specialized surgeries while handling a general orthopedic caseload, including shoulders, elbows, knees, and joint procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate new patient referrals, conduct routine follow-ups, and perform post-operative checks.
- Perform surgeries at surgical centers with a focus on hand-specialized and general orthopedic cases.
- Travel to various designated clinical facilities across the metropolitan area, working at one facility per day.
- Produce detailed legal and medical documentation for workers' compensation and no-fault proceedings.
Qualifications
- Active and unrestricted New York State Medical License.
- Active New York State Workers' Compensation Board number or willingness to obtain one within 1-2 months.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Hand Surgery with the ability to manage upper extremity and general orthopedic cases independently.
- Excellent report writing skills to withstand medical-legal scrutiny.
Experience
- Preference for mid-career physicians with post-fellowship or post-graduate experience.
- Experience in private practice, ASC, or academic hospital settings is highly preferred.
Skills
- Comprehensive training and specialization in Hand Surgery.
- Proven competency in handling broader shoulder and elbow cases.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
