Job Summary
Our client is a leading health system seeking a Patient Access Representative to manage front desk operations within a busy outpatient clinic. This role is critical for ensuring a seamless patient experience and supporting efficient day-to-day administrative workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and check in patients in a professional and timely manner, ensuring a welcoming experience.
- Accurately register patients, verify demographics, and update insurance information in the Epic system.
- Verify insurance eligibility and obtain required authorizations when applicable.
- Collect co-pays, balances, and required documentation at the time of service.
- Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments while optimizing provider schedules.
- Manage patient flow at the front desk and communicate delays or updates effectively.
- Answer incoming calls and respond to patient inquiries regarding appointments, billing, and general information.
- Ensure all documentation is complete and compliant with health system policies and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to support overall clinic operations.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in a front desk, patient access, or medical receptionist role in a healthcare setting.
- Hands-on experience using the Epic EMR system.
- Strong understanding of insurance verification, patient registration, and front-end revenue cycle processes.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a high-volume outpatient environment.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
