Job Summary

Our client is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to perform a variety of clinical and administrative duties. The primary responsibilities include assisting with patient care, managing lab operations, and supporting the administrative functions of the clinic. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation of healthcare services, maintaining patient satisfaction, and adhering to safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities

• Clinical Duties: Accurately measure and record patient vitals, height, and weight in the electronic medical record (EMR); take medical histories; perform screening procedures; assist with basic wound care, splinting, EKGs, and phlebotomy (blood draws).
• Lab Operations: Collect, label, handle, process, and run lab test specimens according to clinic protocols.
• Administrative & Front Desk: Manage patient check-in/out, answer phones, and handle documentation.
• Patient & Team Support: Assist with patient mobility/transfers; communicate observations and concerns to the healthcare team; support emergency care efforts under physician supervision.
• Clinic Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness, order, and full compliance with health and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Training: Completion of a National Medical Assistant training program.
• Certifications: Active Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification.
• Technical/Clinical: Experience with EMR systems (e.g., Athena Health); phlebotomy (specimen collection and handling).
• Physical: Ability to assist with patient mobility and transfers using proper body mechanics.

Preferred Skills

• Certifications: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Phlebotomy Technician certification.
• Clinical Skills: Experience or training in performing EKGs and splinting.

Additional Requirements

Weekend availability is required.
