Job Summary
Our client is seeking an experienced Infusion Specialist to provide comprehensive infusion management and patient care. Responsibilities include handling infusions, performing clinical tasks, administering medications, and providing patient education and support.
Key Responsibilities
- Infusion Management: Monitor and provide care for patients during infusions lasting 2.5 to 7 hours.
- Clinical Tasks: Perform IV starts, mix biologic medications, and administer premedications.
- Patient Assessment: Conduct hourly vital sign checks and perform assessments to ensure patients are cleared for treatment.
- Hands-on Care: Assist patients with ambulation and transferring.
- Administrative Duties: Handle phone triage, schedule appointments, manage EMR documentation, and fax paperwork.
- Patient Education: Use the RX Toolkit to educate patients and families about administered drugs.
- Clinic Maintenance: Discontinue IVs and manage patient turnover for 6-11 patients per day.
Qualifications
- Active RN Licensure: Must hold a Texas RN license or a compact license intending to establish Texas as the home state.
- Expert IV Start Skills.
- Infusion Experience: Prior experience with biologic infusions is prioritized.
- EMR Proficiency.
- Ability to perform drug calculations and follow mixing protocols.
Skills
- Proficiency in starting IVs.
- Clinical autonomy and ability to manage patient care.
- Experience with EMR for patient assessments and documentation.
- Administrative competence for non-clinical duties.
Additional Requirements
No travel required, clinic-based position.
