Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for an Ambulatory Care setting. The primary responsibilities include performing physical examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, recording physical findings, formulating care plans, and coordinating with physicians and other health professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
Responsibilities / Job Duties
- Perform physical examinations and preventive health measures within prescribed guidelines.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to assess patient's clinical problems.
- Record physical findings, formulate plans and prognosis based on patient condition.
- Collaborate with physicians and other health professionals to prepare comprehensive patient care plans.
- Prescribe or recommend drugs or other forms of treatment and refer patients to specialists as necessary.
- Practice standard and disease-specific precautions.
- Triage patients and provide thorough assessments and communication regarding patient care.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to approved nursing techniques.
- Utilize Experity EMR for patient records.
- Ensure excellent patient care and maintain patient safety and satisfaction.
- Participate in quality improvement activities and inventory control.
- Provide direct patient care interventions according to scope of practice.
Minimum Education and Experience Qualification Requirements
Certifications
- BLS, ACLS and PALS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Evidence of current certification from NCCPA for PAs.
- Current ACLS/BLS/PALS certificates for NPs.
State License
- Current Physician Assistant License for PAs.
- Current State Nursing License and NP Certificate issued by the CA Board of Registered Nursing for NPs.
- Current DEA Certificate with California address is required for both PAs and NPs.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year experience in Emergency Medicine or Urgent Care, with at least one year of solo experience.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
Schedule / Shift
- 12-hour shifts from 9 AM to 9 PM.
- Full-time employees work 3 days per week and must include either Saturday or Sunday.
- Part-time employees work 1-2 days per week, including Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, with optional additional 6-hour shifts as needed.
- Weekend availability is required for both part-time and full-time roles.
- Minimum requirement of 4 shifts per month.
