Job Summary

Our client is seeking an experienced Urgent Care Registered Nurse for a high-volume orthopedic urgent care environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing and triaging patients, providing patient and family education, and ensuring all treatments are properly documented.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and triage patients based on their acuity and coordinate care with staffing providers.
• Provide patient and family education and act as a patient advocate.
• Enter electronic orders and document necessary treatments given.
• Scan records into patients' EHR and fax orders for continued care.
• Observe, record, and report patient conditions according to nursing standards.
• Answer phone calls and document in consultation notes.
• Assist providers with patient care, including splinting, DME application, and wound management.
• Perform phlebotomy and process laboratory samples.
• Clean patient rooms and unit equipment.
• Document procedures and supplies needed and used during encounters.
• Check x-rays, labs, cultures, and follow-up with patients seen in urgent care.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) with 3 to 5 years of experience.
• Strong background in orthopedics or fast-paced urgent care environments.
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
• BLS certification.
