Job Summary
Our client is seeking an experienced Urgent Care Registered Nurse for a high-volume orthopedic urgent care environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing and triaging patients, providing patient and family education, and ensuring all treatments are properly documented.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and triage patients based on their acuity and coordinate care with staffing providers.
- Provide patient and family education and act as a patient advocate.
- Enter electronic orders and document necessary treatments given.
- Scan records into patients' EHR and fax orders for continued care.
- Observe, record, and report patient conditions according to nursing standards.
- Answer phone calls and document in consultation notes.
- Assist providers with patient care, including splinting, DME application, and wound management.
- Perform phlebotomy and process laboratory samples.
- Clean patient rooms and unit equipment.
- Document procedures and supplies needed and used during encounters.
- Check x-rays, labs, cultures, and follow-up with patients seen in urgent care.
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) with 3 to 5 years of experience.
- Strong background in orthopedics or fast-paced urgent care environments.
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
- BLS certification.
