Job Summary
Our client is seeking a skilled coder to execute and manage various billing processes. This role involves posting charges, performing follow-ups, payment postings, and handling inbound calls. A strong background in physician billing and extensive experience in resolving account inquiries with payers and patients is necessary.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage posting charges, billing, follow-ups, and payment postings.
- Answer inbound calls within the billing department.
- Review visit notes to confirm the level of the CPT provided.
- Address insurance issues in the chart during coding.
- Assist with answering phones dedicated to the billing department.
- Collaborate efficiently with team members and support company objectives.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- Maintain a schedule of 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, Monday-Friday.
Qualifications
- Active CPC Certification
- E & M Coding experience, 2+ years
- Proficiency in EMR systems, preferably eClinicalWorks
- Expert knowledge of 1500 billing and familiarity with revenue cycle functionality
- Proficient in ICD-10 and CPT coding, as well as medical terminology
- Excellent communication skills using proper grammar
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications - Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to work cooperatively with others and accept constructive feedback
Schedule
- This role is currently set as a Monday - Friday 7 am to 3:30 pm (Local time)
- This role is based on a 3-6 month contract opportunity.
Skills
- Technical skills in EMR and electronic billing software (knowledge of eCW EMR is a plus)
- Strong teamwork and adaptability to change
- Effective communication and the ability to operate office equipment
