Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Research Associate. The primary responsibilities include conducting procedures on study and stock animals, such as clinical observations, administering injections, and collecting data. The role involves managing multiple studies and ensuring high levels of documentation and compliance with protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow SOPs and Protocols to perform procedures on study and stock animals.
- Conduct clinical observations, food consumption tracking, and body weight measurements.
- Administer injectable anesthesia and conduct mating procedures, blood draws, and dose administration.
- Prepare and conduct procedures, such as blood collection and IV administration.
- Handle large and small molecule toxicology and pharmacology studies.
- Work with large animal teams, including primates and dogs.
- Document data and manage high-priority schedules under pressure.
- Opportunity to be the RA Lead on studies with a Study Manager.
Qualifications
- HS Diploma or GED.
- 6+ months of experience with animal handling.
- Experience in animal research or related settings, such as kennels or vet clinics.
Experience
- 6+ months of experience with animal handling in a relevant field.
- Experience with preclinical technical skills, such as blood collection and injections.
Skills
- Preclinical Technical Skills: Blood Collection Techniques, IV Administration, Injections
- Animal handling and restraint techniques.
- Excellent documentation and data collection skills.
Additional Requirements
- Training hours from 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM during the first few months.
- Flexible shift times and the expectation to work at least one weekend day.
- Willingness to work overtime and maintain a flexible schedule.
