Job Summary
Our client is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant responsible for supporting clinical care and ensuring efficient patient flow. The role involves recording patient data, managing electronic health records (EHR), coordinating imaging, and maintaining effective communication with patients and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently escort patients to exam rooms and maintain a professional clinic environment.
- Accurately record patient vital signs and primary complaints.
- Reconcile current patient medications and update allergy profiles within the EHR.
- Utilize EPIC to maintain accurate patient records and manage daily schedules.
- Request external imaging and upload reports/disks for provider review.
- Manage a high volume of calls, including chart preparation and patient inquiries.
- Ensure all outside records, labs, and imaging are updated before patient arrival.
Qualifications
- Medical Assistant Diploma (Certification required within 60 days).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- High School Diploma.
- Ability to work effectively in a busy practice.
- EPIC experience preferred.
- Orthopedic or specialty experience is a plus.
Skills
- Proficiency in EPIC and EHR management.
- Strong communication skills and ability to handle high volume of calls.
Additional Requirements
Medical Assistant Diploma required (certification needs to be obtained within 60 days).
