Job Summary
Our client is seeking a dedicated Hospital Biller to manage open receivables for transplant event claims. The primary responsibilities include validating transplant documents, directing billing to the appropriate payer, and ensuring the integrity of accounts with respect to contracted adjustments, insurance, or patient liability.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow up on open receivables for transplant event claims.
- Validate transplant phases and documents and direct billing to the appropriate payer.
- Verify correct entity for billing and compare authorization to reimbursement.
- Timely follow-up of assigned accounts.
- Contact third-party payers to verify the status of claims and update the billing payer as necessary.
- Submit account disputes, appeals, or reconsiderations when appropriate.
- Document results in EMR along with details such as contact person, reference number, etc.
- Refer UM claim denials to the proper workflow or appeal.
Qualifications
- Requires higher level collection skill and experience.
- Complex organization, prioritization, problem-solving, and multitasking skills.
- 2 years of Inpatient Collections & Billing Experience.
- Recent EPIC Experience (within the past year).
- Comfortable calling insurance companies and working with insurance portals.
- Understanding and experience with Medicaid and Medicare Managed Care insurance payers.
Experience
- 2 years in Inpatient Collections & Billing.
- Experience with EPIC and transplant claims preferred.
Skills
- Technical: EPIC Experience.
- Soft Skills: Problem-solving, multitasking, and communication.
