Job Summary
Our client is seeking a passionate and talented oncology Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner. As part of a renowned medical institute, the PA/NP plays a key role in delivering diagnostic, therapeutic, preventive, and survivorship care for breast cancer patients under the direction and supervision of a physician. The provider supports the multidisciplinary oncology team in ensuring timely, high-quality, and compassionate care throughout the breast cancer journey, including diagnosis, active treatment, and follow-up.
Responsibilities / Job Duties
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and obtain medical histories.
- Identify and record pertinent progress of patients, providing updates and summarizing charts, including changing orders when appropriate and notifying the responsible physician.
- Perform appropriate physical examinations and provide continuity of care for complex illnesses.
- Develop and implement patient management plans, coordinating referrals to specialty and social services.
- Oversee chemotherapy/infusion patients, managing side effects and reactions.
- Order and interpret appropriate diagnostic studies and tests.
- Initiate consultations and coordinate diagnostic study scheduling.
- Document clinical encounters and ensure compliance with regulatory standards, including patient and family education.
- Participate in survivorship planning and end-of-life care discussions.
- Maintain compliance with departmental policies, quality assurance, and infection control protocols.
- Engage in in-service education programs and professional associations.
Schedule / Shift
Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM, with one day work from home a week.
Skills
- CA NP license
- DEA license
- CPR/BLS certification
- ACLS certification
- Oncology experience as an APP
