Job Summary
Join our client as a Medical Assistant, where you will play a crucial role in patient care by recording vital signs, assisting with examinations, and maintaining medical supplies and records. You will be integral to ensuring efficient operations within the facility and providing exceptional patient experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Measure and record vital signs such as weight, height, and blood pressure.
- Ensure accurate documentation into the EMR, including patient interviews, histories, test results, and treatments.
- Assist medical staff with patient examinations.
- Maintain and sterilize necessary supplies and equipment.
- Ensure confidentiality of patient and organizational information.
- Participate in development activities and maintain affiliations with medical assistant associations.
- Perform front office duties such as reception, patient check-in/check-out, payment collection, and scheduling.
- Perform routine screening tests, blood draws, and preparation of lab samples.
- Administer injectable medications and immunizations as ordered.
- Perform first aid procedures, such as changing dressings and removing sutures.
- Assist with the scheduling of referrals as needed.
Qualifications
- Experience in a medical assistant role within family practice, internal medicine, urgent care, or walk-in environments.
- Proficiency in performing independent blood draws.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from recognized organizations such as the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Preferred: MA diploma/certification.
