Job Summary
Our client is seeking a skilled Family Medicine Medical Assistant to join their dynamic team. The primary responsibilities include assisting in patient care through taking vital signs, preparing patients for examinations, and performing initial interviews. The role also involves collaborating with care teams, maintaining quality and safety standards, and supporting Patient-Centered Medical Home initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Take patients’ vital signs, prepare patients for examinations, and perform initial interviews.
- Assist providers during examinations, procedures, and perform phlebotomy, Point of Care Testing (POCT), and EKGs.
- Administer immunizations and injections, collect specimens for laboratory analysis, and complete necessary requisitions.
- Participate in care team huddles, communicate lab results, and triage phone messages.
- Maintain quality and safety standards, including proper storage of medications and maintaining inventory of medical supplies.
- Support PCMH principles and participate in community outreach events as needed.
- Perform administrative duties, including patient scheduling and front desk duties.
Qualifications
- 1 Year MA Experience
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Experience in Family Medicine (adults, pediatrics, and women’s health/OB)
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR), Athena highly preferred
