Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join their Primary Care team. This role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced outpatient setting, providing high-quality care to both pediatric and adult patients while collaborating closely with physicians and clinical staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care and clinical support in an outpatient primary care practice.
- Obtain and document vital signs, medical histories, and patient concerns.
- Administer immunizations, injections, medications, and other treatments as directed by providers.
- Perform venipuncture and blood draws for laboratory testing.
- Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and patient care activities.
- Triage patient calls and messages, escalating clinical concerns when appropriate.
- Educate patients and families on medications, preventive care, treatment plans, and follow-up instructions.
- Coordinate referrals, diagnostic testing, and follow-up appointments.
- Maintain accurate documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Ensure exam rooms are stocked, organized, and compliant with infection control standards.
Qualifications
- Active New York State LPN License required.
- BLS certification required.
- Minimum of 2 years of LPN experience in a primary care, family medicine, pediatrics, internal medicine, or outpatient setting.
- Experience administering injections and performing blood draws required.
- Strong patient communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
- Experience with Epic or other EMR systems preferred.
