Job Summary
We are seeking an empathetic and results-driven Healthcare Benefits Navigator to join our client's growing team. In this high-touch, non-clinical member advocacy role, you will work one-on-one with actively employed professionals, commercial union members, and their dependents to help them successfully navigate the complexities of employer-sponsored health plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize data-driven insight to initiate outbound campaigns targeting members who need support with preventive care, chronic condition management, or medication adherence.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to help working-class families and young adults resolve medical, pharmacy, and ancillary benefit hurdles.
- Assist members in locating in-network provider options, troubleshooting prior authorizations, handling referrals, and appealing claims denials or billing errors.
- Adapt to a diverse portfolio of self-insured employer health options, guiding members through specific deductibles, copayments, and network restrictions.
- Identify when members qualify for specialized client-sponsored resources such as behavioral health, diabetes management, or musculoskeletal programs and seamlessly route them to these benefits.
- Maintain meticulous, timely case documentation within our internal CRM system, strictly adhering to HIPAA regulations and organizational privacy standards.
Qualifications
- 2 or more years of experience in healthcare customer service, commercial insurance, health system navigation, hospital billing, or medical care coordination.
- A solid foundation in medical terminology and a strong understanding of employer-sponsored health plans, provider networks, and insurance processes.
- Outstanding active listening and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to translate confusing medical jargon into plain, actionable advice.
- Proficiency in navigating CRM platforms, medical documentation software, and multi-screen workflows.
Experience
- 2 or more years of experience in healthcare customer service, commercial insurance, health system navigation, hospital billing, or medical care coordination.
