Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Family Medicine Resident to join their team. This role involves preparing patients for examinations, assisting providers during procedures, and performing various clinical tasks. The goal is to ensure efficient patient care and clinic operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures by obtaining medical histories, documenting chief complaints, and recording vital signs.
- Assist providers during patient visits, treatments, and minor procedures.
- Administer vaccinations and injections in accordance with applicable regulations and provider orders.
- Perform clinical tasks such as specimen collection, point-of-care testing, EKGs, and other delegated procedures within the scope of practice.
- Accurately document patient information in the electronic medical record.
- Coordinate patient flow to ensure efficient clinic operations.
- Schedule appointments, process referrals, and assist with insurance verification when needed.
- Maintain exam rooms, medical equipment, and clinical supplies.
- Adhere to infection prevention, safety, HIPAA, and organizational policies.
- Provide professional, compassionate service to patients and families.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Current national certification as a Medical Assistant (AAMA, AMT, NHA, NCCT, or equivalent).
- Current BLS/CPR certification or ability to obtain upon hire.
- Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
- Proficiency with electronic health records and basic computer applications.
Experience
- One or more years of experience in a physician practice, specialty clinic, or ambulatory care setting.
- Experience administering vaccines and intramuscular/subcutaneous injections.
Skills
- Familiarity with Epic EHR or comparable electronic medical record systems.
- Experience with phlebotomy, specimen processing, and clinical documentation.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, patient scheduling, and insurance workflows.
Additional Requirements
Mon-Fri 8-5 with some rotation late nights until 7.
