Job Summary
Our client is seeking a dedicated Surgery Scheduler to play a pivotal role in supporting patients preparing for surgical procedures. This role is essential in ensuring a smooth scheduling process, fostering a compassionate environment, and coordinating with staff across multiple facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Contact patients within 24-48 hours to discuss surgery needs.
- Coordinate insurance benefits with the respective facility.
- Review and evaluate patient’s medical history for tests and clearances.
- Discuss facility options with patients based on insurance restrictions and medical history.
- Advise and guide patients through the pre-operative process.
- Coordinate prescriptions and instructions for required testing.
- Fax necessary information to primary care or specialist physicians.
- Handle paperwork and scheduling details with precision and make necessary updates in facility systems.
- Ensure timely completion of required tests and clearances.
- Coordinate with multiple facilities to ensure all necessary paperwork is in order.
- Provide answers to patient queries during the pre-operative phase.
- Help reschedule procedures as necessary.
- Maintain detailed records of actions taken.
- Assist in faxing, scanning, and copying as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
