Job Summary
We are seeking a diligent, detail-oriented, and experienced Healthcare Payment Poster to join our client's medical billing team. The primary responsibilities include accurately and efficiently posting payments and adjustments from insurance companies and patients to patient accounts.
Key Responsibilities
- Payment Posting: Accurately post electronic (ERA) and manual (EOB) insurance payments, patient payments, and contractual adjustments to patient accounts daily.
- Denial & Adjustment Tracking: Identify, code, and log insurance denials and partial payments; route them to the appropriate billing or appeals representative for follow-up.
- Balancing & Reconciliation: Reconcile daily batch postings against bank deposits, logs, and clearinghouse reports to ensure 100% accuracy.
- Research & Resolution: Research unidentified payments, overpayments, and misapplied cash to ensure proper account resolution.
- Secondary Claims Management: Identify accounts requiring secondary billing or patient responsibility and advance them through the billing cycle.
- Compliance & Confidentiality: Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and company policies regarding protected health information (PHI).
Skills
- ERA, EFT, manual posting, electronic posting, ability to read and post to the EOBs especially for recoups or takebacks.
- Athena Practice experience.
- Availity experience.
Additional Requirements
M-F – 8:00 to 4:30 with a 30 min lunch.
