Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to become part of their dynamic Urgent Care team. The role involves managing initial vitals, performing blood draws, and assisting with various minor procedures, providing a diverse and engaging clinical experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Intake: Perform initial assessments, including height, weight, blood pressure, pulse, and temperature.
- Point-of-Care Testing (POCT): Conduct rapid tests for Strep, Flu, COVID-19, glucose levels, and urinalysis.
- Procedural Support: Assist providers with minor surgeries, suturing, wound care, and dressing changes.
- Medication Administration: Administer injections (IM, SubQ) and nebulizer treatments as directed.
- Diagnostics: Perform EKGs and basic phlebotomy (venipuncture and capillary sticks).
- Specialty Skills: Apply basic orthopedic splints and provide crutch-walking instructions.
- Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) and ensure patient confidentiality (HIPAA).
- Sanitize exam rooms between patients and ensure clinical areas are stocked.
- Manage "In-Basket" tasks, including calling patients with lab results and processing pharmacy refills.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant
- Medical Assistant Diploma from a reputable trade school
- 2 years of Medical Assistant experience
- Reliable Transportation - this person will help open the office, needs to be reliable
- Ability to support a busy practice with multiple providers and specialties
- EPIC experience is a nice to have
Skills
- Technical proficiency in managing electronic health records and conducting various medical tests.
- Strong communication and multitasking abilities.
