Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated Patient Services Representative to join a fast-paced specialty healthcare practice. This individual will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing patient registration, insurance verification, scheduling, and front-office operations.

Key Responsibilities

Greet and check in patients while maintaining efficient patient flow throughout the day.

Answer incoming calls and respond to patient inquiries in a professional and timely manner.

Schedule appointments and manage patient registrations.

Verify insurance eligibility and benefits, including HMO and PPO plans.

Collect co-pays, balances, and self-pay payments.

Maintain accurate patient records and documentation within the EMR system.

Utilize insurance portals to verify coverage and obtain eligibility information.

Assist with administrative tasks including voicemail management, medical records, document processing, and email correspondence.

Serve as a patient advocate by resolving questions and concerns efficiently.

Support daily front-office operations and collaborate with team members to ensure a seamless patient experience.
Qualifications
Required

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Minimum of 1 year of experience in a medical, dental, or healthcare office setting.

Understanding of insurance terminology, including HMO, PPO, co-pays, and co-insurance.

Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Experience working with electronic medical records (EMR) systems or the ability to learn new software quickly.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Preferred

Experience in dental, surgical, physical therapy, or specialty healthcare settings.

Previous experience with insurance eligibility verification.

Familiarity with Athena or similar EMR platforms.

Medical terminology knowledge.
Schedule
-
Full-time, Monday–Friday.

Rotating shifts between early morning and evening hours.

Saturday rotation (approximately once every six weeks) with schedule flexibility provided.
