Job Summary
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Surgery Scheduler responsible for managing the surgery scheduling process. This role involves scheduling surgeries and appointments, obtaining authorizations, and maintaining clear communication with providers. The scheduler also coordinates with hospitals and surgical centers to ensure seamless operations.
Responsibilities / Job Duties
- Heavy workflow, managing schedules for up to 20 surgeries a week.
- Coordinate schedules for 2-3 providers.
- Adapt scheduling based on the type of surgery.
- Oversee the surgery process including pre-op and post-op arrangements.
- Obtain authorizations for procedures.
- Send scheduling sheets to hospitals or surgical centers.
- Assist in regular appointment scheduling and support the call center as needed.
- Communicate with patients through various channels, including portal, text, email, and voicemail.
- Manage and maintain close communication with providers regarding surgery schedules.
- Occasionally support other departments as required.
Minimum Education and Experience Qualification Requirements
Qualifications
- 2+ years of surgery scheduling experience.
- Experience in orthopedics is a significant advantage.
- Proficiency in submitting authorizations through insurance portals.
- Comfortable managing schedules and sending orders to PCP offices.
- Preferred: Experience in Orthopedics.
Schedule / Shift
Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM on site.
