Job Summary
Our client is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to perform routine medical assistant functions while maintaining the highest standards of care and confidentiality. The role involves direct patient interaction, specimen collection, data management, and assisting with clinical tasks under the supervision of medical professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine medical assistant functions according to policies and best practices.
- Document patient's vital signs and manage records in the EMR.
- Collect and process specimens; communicate test results to physicians.
- Order laboratory tests, track results, and manage inventory.
- Conduct EKGs, routine tests, and assist with patient mobility and daily activities.
- Ensure adherence to safety and infection control standards.
- Assist physicians, manage customer issues, and coordinate follow-up visits.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent with medical technician training.
- Medical Assistant Certification; must be a certified Phlebotomist with EKG proficiency.
- Ability to work weekends if required.
Experience
- At least one (1) year of venipuncture experience, preferably with the elderly population.
- Must be computer literate.
Skills
- Proficient in all equipment use as dictated by the position.
- Ability to manage tasks ranging from 10 to 90 minutes in duration.
- Preferred language skills in Chinese or Spanish.
Shift:
- Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, 1 hour lunch break
Locations:
- 3 days a week in the Lower East Side
- 2 days a week in the Upper East Side

- Ability to translate as needed.
