Job Description
Medix is partnering with a premier healthcare facility to find a highly skilled, autonomous Travel CT Technologist. In this role, you will step into a fast-paced environment and serve as a vital clinician within a high-volume, high-acuity setting. If you are a confident "worker bee" who thrives under pressure and enjoys a high degree of clinical independence, this contract offers an incredible opportunity to elevate your resume.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate Philips CT scanners (64-slice Ingenuity and 256 Brilliance) independently with zero system ramp-up time.
- Manage a high-volume workload.
- Perform independent IV sticks for time-critical stroke and trauma protocols when necessary.
- Maintain flexibility to cross-cover and assist in the X-ray room during rare lulls in CT volume.
- Utilize Cerner EMR and Intelerad PACS daily to manage patient records and imaging.
Job Requirements
- Experience: Minimum of 3+ years of active, high-acuity CT experience is highly preferred.
- Certifications: ARRT (CT) is required
- Licensure: Active California State Radiologic Technologist (CRT) License
- IV Certification: Must hold a valid IV Certification per California state guidelines.
- Clinical Confidence: Ability to work completely independently as the sole CT tech on-site during night weekend shifts.
Position Overview & Highlights
- High-Tier Resume Builder: You will be working in a designated Level 2 Trauma, STEMI, and Stroke center, managing a broad ER demographic and complex geriatric cases. Proving you can handle this level of acuity makes you incredibly marketable for prestigious future contracts.
- Maximum Autonomy: During weekend shifts, you will be the sole CT specialist on-site. You will run the department, dictate workflow, and collaborate directly with ER doctors and nurses as the trusted imaging expert.
- The Schedule Advantage: This unique Tuesday–Saturday schedule condenses your weekend into Friday and Saturday night graveyards. You get Sunday and Monday completely off to explore Northern California when top spots are less crowded, all while securing your full 40 hours without a grueling 5-day graveyard stretch.
