Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide same-day outpatient care in a mission-driven tribal/community health clinic. The role focuses on serving a diverse patient population across all age groups, with responsibilities including evaluating and treating acute illnesses, minor injuries, infections, wound care, and routine medical conditions. This position emphasizes compassionate care, cultural humility, strong bedside manner, and continuity of access for the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide patient care in a walk-in/same-day clinic environment.
- Perform histories, physicals, diagnostic evaluations, and triage activities.
- Conduct patient counseling, medication management, and minor outpatient procedures.
- Work collaboratively within a patient-centered care team.
- Utilize electronic health records, with Epic experience preferred.
Qualifications
- Board Certified NP or PA with an active Washington license or ability to obtain licensure through expedited pathways.
- ACLS/PALS certification required.
- Experience in same-day care, urgent care, walk-in clinic, outpatient Family Medicine, or prompt care settings.
- Strong procedural comfort with minor outpatient procedures, wound care, suturing, acute illness management, and triage.
Experience
- Previous experience in tribal health, community health, FQHC, urgent care, or underserved populations preferred.
- Experience in managing walk-in/same-day patient volume and collaborative outpatient care environments is highly valued.
Skills
- Strong communication, professionalism, teamwork, adaptability, and cultural sensitivity.
- Experience with phone, telehealth, and in-person patient care is beneficial.
Schedule/Shift
Monday through Friday outpatient same-day clinic schedule from 8:00am–5:00pm. No regular on-call responsibilities. Assignment expected to begin after the 4th of July with preference for providers available for a 3–6 month commitment.
