Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Phlebotomist to join our team. The Phlebotomist will be responsible for collecting blood specimens, preparing samples for laboratory testing, and providing excellent patient care in a professional healthcare environment on behalf of our client.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws on patients of all ages.
- Verify patient information and label specimens accurately.
- Prepare and transport specimens according to established procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas and equipment.
- Follow all safety, infection control, and HIPAA guidelines.
- Assist patients by answering questions and helping them feel comfortable during procedures.
- Document patient information and collection details accurately.
- Collaborate with clinical and laboratory staff as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred.
- Previous phlebotomy or patient care experience preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer and documentation skills.
Skills
- Either MA or Phlebotomy experience.
- Experience taking manual blood pressure.
- Phlebotomy certification or MA Diploma/certification.
