Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Revenue Recovery Specialist to manage low balance patient AR accounts, research unpaid and denied claims, and perform payer and patient follow-up. The role involves reviewing EOBs/835s, resolving denials, submitting appeals, maintaining documentation, and meeting performance KPIs.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage low balance patient AR accounts (HB/PB).
- Research unpaid and denied claims to determine root cause.
- Perform payer and patient follow-up via phone and payer portals.
- Review EOBs/835s, payer policies, and contracts.
- Resolve denials including COB, eligibility, medical necessity, and reimbursement variances.
- Submit appeals and reconsiderations within timely filing guidelines.
- Maintain detailed documentation within AR/workflow systems.
- Meet productivity, quality, and timeliness KPIs.
- Escalate high-risk or complex accounts appropriately.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of healthcare billing/collections/claims experience for Specialist I.
- 5+ years of healthcare billing/collections/claims experience for Specialist II.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Strong understanding of insurance billing and payer processes.
- Experience with EOBs/835s and denial resolution.
- EHR experience required; EPIC strongly preferred/required.
- Familiarity with ICD-10/CPT preferred.
