Job Summary
Our client is seeking a skilled Collector to join their team. The primary responsibilities include managing collections and follow-up on outstanding revenue, focusing on quality fixes for root-cause problems.
Key Responsibilities
- Aged Debt Recovery: Lead the collection efforts for a significant backlog of $18 million in outstanding revenue, some of which dates back 5 years.
- Quality-Driven Follow-Up: Conduct thorough research on unpaid accounts to identify why they remain outstanding.
- Payer Resolution: Contact insurance carriers to resolve complex denials and facilitate payment on aged claims.
- Billing Adjustments: Perform necessary billing updates and corrections discovered during the collection process to ensure clean claim submission.
Qualifications
- Revenue Cycle Literacy: A strong understanding of the whole revenue cycle, including how billing and cash posting impact collection success.
- Problem-Solving Ability: Demonstrated skill in investigating root-cause issues that prevent claims from being paid.
- Healthcare Collections Experience: Proven experience specifically in a medical collections or healthcare AR follow-up environment.
Experience
- Experience in inpatient/outpatient settings.
- Background in the whole revenue cycle, specifically mentioning cash or billing.
- Experience in transitional rehab or specialization in activating claims is preferred.
