Job Summary
Our client is seeking a dedicated Coding Educator to lead and support coding and clinical documentation initiatives. The primary responsibilities include improving accuracy, optimizing reimbursement, and ensuring compliance with various regulations. This role involves conducting audits, providing education and training, and recommending process enhancements to improve efficiency and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support coding and clinical documentation initiatives to improve accuracy, optimize reimbursement, and ensure compliance with organizational, state, federal, and payer regulations.
- Conduct audits and quality reviews, analyze trends, track findings, and partner with providers and staff to create corrective action plans that strengthen coding and documentation practices.
- Provide education and training through presentations, one-on-one coaching, and virtual sessions while serving as a subject matter expert on coding, compliance, EMR documentation, and industry best practices.
- Identify workflow and documentation improvement opportunities, evaluate outcomes using data and performance metrics, and recommend process enhancements to improve efficiency and compliance.
- Collaborate with clinical teams to support education related to new procedures, technologies, provider onboarding, and quality initiatives.
- Research coding and compliance updates, interpret complex data from multiple systems, and translate findings into actionable insights for providers and staff.
Qualifications
- Coding certification - CPC or CCS or RHIT/RHIA
- 5-7 years of coding experience
- Training and education experience
- Bachelor's degree, not required
- EPIC experience
- General surgery, vascular surgery, and colorectal surgery experience
- Cardiology experience is a plus

- Coding skills with a certification requirement (CPC, CCS, RHIT/RHIA)

Monday to Friday, 8am-4pm EST
