Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Payment Poster to play a crucial role in the financial operations team. The primary responsibilities include payment preparation and posting, maintaining accurate logs, and assisting with special projects to ensure financial accuracy and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Payment preparation and posting.
- Sign out for payment batch on batch log with time received.
- Identify and circle invoices to prepare payment batch before entry, and separate payments by groups.
- Post payments, denials, and adjustments to invoices following protocol.
- Balance all groups back to batch total.
- Record batch completion on the payment batch log.
- Research and resolve payments requiring additional information, or escalate to Supervisor as needed.
- Verify with Lead or Supervisor before applying payments to unapplied invoices.
- Review and correct statements as necessary.
- Maintain records and assist with mail opening.
- Perform other duties as requested by Supervisor or Manager.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma / GED.
- 1+ years of experience in cash posting/payment posting within the healthcare field.
Experience
- 1+ years of experience in cash posting/payment posting in the healthcare field.
- Experience or general knowledge of payor-specific or medical specialty reimbursement is preferred.
Skills
- Knowledge of CPT and ICD-9/10 coding.
Additional Requirements
- Hybrid work schedule: Initially onsite 5 days/week transitioning to 2 days in office/3 days remote.
- Work hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM CT - 5:30 PM CT.
