Job Summary
Our client is seeking an Insurance Representative responsible for interviewing and scheduling patients for outpatient services, as well as preregistration. The role requires coordination of patient schedules to enhance satisfaction for both patients and physicians.
Key Responsibilities
- Professionally interview and schedule patients for outpatient service including preregistration.
- Coordinate patient schedules to maximize patient and physician satisfaction institution-wide.
- Communicate patient instructions and directions to patients, physician office staff, and other internal personnel.
- Maintain scheduling and pre-registration accuracy as per department standards.
- Create estimates for patient financial responsibility and collect relevant payments.
- Initiate processes to ensure patient compliance with financial policies and transfer complex situations to appropriate departments.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of healthcare experience, with a preference for backgrounds in Insurance Verification or Radiology Scheduling.
- Advanced knowledge of PPO/HMO/Government payers and specific authorization requirements in radiology.
- Proficient in handling high-volume, escalated calls with professionalism.
- Technical proficiency in Medical Terminology and EMR systems.
Experience
- 2+ years in the healthcare field.
- Specific experience in insurance verification or radiology scheduling preferred.
Skills
- Proficiency in ICD-9/ICD-10 coding is preferred.
- Experience in a dedicated Radiology Center is an advantage.
Additional Requirements
- Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM shift.
