Job Summary
Our client is seeking an experienced Insurance Representative to professionally interview and schedule patients for outpatient services, including preregistration. The primary goal of this position is to maximize patient and physician satisfaction throughout the institution by efficiently coordinating schedules, communicating patient instructions, and ensuring financial responsibilities are met.
Key Responsibilities
- Professionally interview and schedule patients for outpatient services, including preregistration.
- Coordinate patient schedules to maximize satisfaction for both patients and physicians.
- Communicate patient instructions, physician order requirements, and authorization requirements to relevant parties.
- Maintain scheduling and preregistration accuracy according to department standards.
- Create estimates for patient financial responsibility and collect co-payments and deductibles.
- Ensure patients meet hospital financial policies and transfer cases to appropriate departments for complex situations.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of healthcare experience, preferably in Insurance Verification or Radiology Scheduling.
- Advanced insurance knowledge, particularly in PPO/HMO/Government payers and radiology authorization nuances.
- Proficiency in handling high-volume, escalated calls with professionalism in a call center environment.
- Technical literacy in medical terminology and EMR systems.
- Expertise in ICD-9/ICD-10 coding is preferred.
- Prior experience in a dedicated Radiology Center is preferred.
