Job Summary
Our client is seeking a dedicated Patient Access Representative (PAR) in an Emergency Department who will play a critical role in ensuring a smooth and accurate patient registration process.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Registration & Data Entry: Greeting patients, collecting accurate demographic information, scanning IDs and insurance cards, and ensuring all necessary forms are completed and signed.
- Insurance Verification & Authorization: Verifying insurance eligibility and benefits, identifying primary and secondary plans, communicating financial responsibilities to patients, and initiating/following up on prior authorizations.
- Customer Service & Communication: Providing excellent customer service, addressing patient inquiries, managing wait times, de-escalating difficult situations, and collaborating with clinical staff.
- Medical Front Desk Operations: Managing phone calls, maintaining the front desk area, adhering to HIPAA regulations, and processing patient payments.
- General Duties: Participating in ongoing training, reporting discrepancies, and contributing to a positive team environment.
