Facilities Technician III (3-Month Contract)

About the Role

We are seeking a Facilities and Operations Technician III to join our Building Services Team for a 3-month contract. This role is responsible for day-to-day operations and complex work order resolution across multiple facilities, including a 250,000-SF headquarters and additional local sites. You will support a diverse environment of lab and office spaces for approximately 1,000 occupants.

Key Focus: We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in industrial, laboratory, or manufacturing environments (e.g., Biotech, Pharma, Medical Device, or Food & Beverage).

Primary Responsibilities

• Technical Maintenance: Execute complex repairs including wall patching, painting, and minor carpentry.

• Fixture Installation: Perform installations of wall shelving, artwork, cabinets, and other fixed equipment.

• Space Reconfiguration: Handle the dismantling, assembly, installation, and movement of furniture for office and lab updates.

• Ergonomics: Install and repair ergonomic equipment, such as adjustable desks, monitor arms, and keyboard trays.

• Systems & Diagnostics: Conduct preventive maintenance on facility systems and diagnose equipment issues, coordinating with external vendors when necessary.

• Safety Compliance: Ensure all work meets safety and operational standards, including OSHA regulations and lockout/tagout procedures.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED.

• Required Experience: 1+ year of related facilities experience with extensive knowledge of hand and power tools.

• Preferred Experience: 5+ years in a commercial, laboratory, or industrial facility.

• Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CMMS (Work Order Management) systems like ServiceNow.

• Communication: Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

• Setting: Laboratory environments (potential exposure to lasers/biohazards), warehouse spaces, and data centers.

• Physical: Ability to lift/move up to 30 lbs and perform physical tasks including stooping, kneeling, and climbing ladders.

• Schedule: This role requires onsite work and participation in a rotating on-call schedule for after-hours emergencies.
