We are seeking a multifaceted Patient Liaison to join our specialized clinic team. This dynamic role acts as a crucial bridge between clinical care and patient coordination. You will spend your day blending high-touch customer service with administrative and back-office clinic workflow.
From addressing symptom inquiries on the phone to stepping onto the clinic floor as a hands-on ophthalmic technician, this role is perfect for a certified or experienced Medical Assistant looking to build deep, specialized clinical expertise.
Core Responsibilities

Clinical Triage & Support: Answer patient phone inquiries regarding symptoms, treatments, and medications; triage and schedule calls properly to maintain an efficient workflow.

Diagnostics Coordination: Manage the end-to-end coordination of physician-ordered diagnostics (including MRIs, lab work, and angiographies) by securing insurance pre-authorizations and communicating results back to patients.

Hands-on Clinical Assistance: Provide direct support as an ophthalmic technician during active clinic hours, utilizing your knowledge of eye anatomy, testing, and terminology.

Prescription Lifecycle Management: Process medication refills and manage prescriptions through both electronic and manual routing platforms.

Specialized Administrative Documentation: Sourced external medical files to maintain EHR integrity, coordinate outgoing referrals, and meticulously process specialized paperwork like FMLA and Worker’s Compensation forms.
Requirements

Experience: Minimum of 1+ years of experience in a healthcare front-office or back-office role, with at least 1+ years of hands-on Medical Assistant (MA) experience.

Clinical Knowledge: Strong baseline understanding of eye anatomy, clinical testing protocols, and specialized disease terminology.

Technical Skills: Exceptional data entry proficiency and experience navigating Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.

Communication & Etiquette: Superior phone etiquette, active listening, and customer service skills to manage complex patient situations with professionalism.
