Job Summary
Our client is seeking a dedicated Medical Records Clerk to join their team. The primary responsibilities involve managing document requests, ensuring HIPAA compliance, and maintaining organized medical records using specialized software. This role also includes communication and administrative duties that require strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Responsibilities / Job Duties
- Ensure HIPAA Compliance: Safeguard patient privacy and maintain strict confidentiality at all times.
- Manage Document Requests: Efficiently process, retrieve, and fulfill requests for medical records and files.
- Record Maintenance: Organize and update medical records, technical libraries, and correspondence according to regulatory standards.
- Data Entry: Use specialized software to enter, update, and retrieve patient health information.
- Liaison Services: Collaborate with external partners and staff to answer questions and share health information securely.
- Inbound Requests: Monitor and respond to incoming faxes and emails regarding record requests or patient concerns.
- Phone Management: Direct calls to the appropriate team members and handle messaging professionally.
- Document Dispatch: Send medical records and correspondence via mail, email, or fax as needed.
- Technical Proficiency: Utilize word processing and spreadsheet software to prepare records for delivery.
- Office Maintenance: Operate and troubleshoot standard office equipment like scanners, copiers, and fax machines.
- Form Processing: Complete and submit business or government forms accurately and on time.
- General Support: Tackle additional administrative tasks to support the team as needed.
Minimum Education and Experience Qualification Requirements
Qualifications
- 1-2 years of medical records experience.
- BILINGUAL SPANISH required.
- Prefer community clinic experience but not required.
Skills
- Technical skills: Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet software.
- Soft skills: Strong communication and coordination abilities.
Schedule / Shift
Monday - Friday - 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM
