You are applying for a position through Medix, a staffing agency. The actual posting represents a position at one of our clients.
Are you a collections powerhouse who thrives on "cleaning up the books" and tackling complex aged claims? We are bringing our billing back in-house and need a high-level professional to serve as the "right hand" to our Billing Director.
While our Director is a master of her craft, she is currently focused on mentoring junior staff. We need a seasoned expert who can hit the ground running—no hand-holding required. If you are an investigative collector who knows how to navigate the 90+ day bucket and get claims paid, we want you on our team.
The Core Mission
This isn’t just data entry; it’s forensic billing. You will take the lead on high-volume collections and AR recovery, focusing on Colorado Medicaid, major commercial payers, and specialized vision plans. Your goal is to identify root causes, resolve denials, and significantly lower AR days.
Key Responsibilities:
- High-Volume Recovery: Resolve 50–60 claims per day, focusing on unpaid or underpaid accounts.
- Strategic Appeals: Review and analyze EOBs to identify discrepancies; execute aggressive follow-ups via phone and online portals.
- Full Cycle Support: Submit HCFA forms and manage regular patient statement processing.
- Compliance & Accuracy: Audit EOBs against contracted reimbursement rates to ensure every dollar is accounted for.
Requirements:
- NextGen EMR Mastery: You must be proficient in NextGen. We need someone who already knows the shortcuts, workflows, and reporting within this system.
- The "Collector" Mindset: You aren't intimidated by aged claims. You have a proven track record of successfully appealing and re-filing complex denials.
- Payer Expertise: * Government: Deep knowledge of Colorado Medicaid (out-of-state Medicaid products are a plus) and Medicare.
- Specialized: Experience with Vision Insurances (VSP, EyeMed, Spectara) is a massive advantage.
- Autonomy: You are self-sufficient and can identify bottlenecks without constant supervision.
